Saints win the Super Bowl

Published on Monday, February 8, 2010 3:50 PM CST

The New Orleans Saints topped off a successful season with a Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts Sunday night. Car horns blared, fireworks were shot off and people were seen running and screaming in the streets of St. Tammany as residents reacted when the Saints topped the Colts 31-17 in the 43-year-old franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance. Lines formed instantly at several sports apparel outlets around the parish, local school children were allowed to wear black and gold to school and several local businesses and some government offices closed Monday as Louisiana celebrated a holiday in honor of the Super Bowl victory. Check in the Friday issue of the St. Tammany News for more in-depth coverage of St. Tammany’s reaction to the big win.

" I want to hear what Archie Manning has to say about Peyton Manning's sportsman's conduct both during the game and when he didn't even have enough class to congradulate the Saints at games end. Has anyone thought to Interview Archie Manning who use to play for the SAINTS?

    Thanks,

" Notice how quite it is in here after the Saints blow the mind of most of the football experts. I couldn't believe all the predictions after watching the Saints play this year. They were better on offense and better on take aways. I guess the Vikings game threw everyone. The Vikings were better than the Colts. They were better than the Saints also, but were just lucky that day. I'm really happy the for the Saints and New Orleans. "
