This unique exhibit will showcase St. Tammany alum who enjoy careers in the arts and current students who are pursuing artistic endeavors.

Auditions at Ballet Apetrei planned

Ballet Apetrei will be conducting auditions for dancers for its 22nd annual production of “The Nutcracker.” Auditions are open to the public. Dancers ages 5 and up may audition Aug. 28 beginning at noon. Auditions will be held at the Apetrei Dancenter located in Mandeville at 829 Asbury Drive.  Dancers must be currently studying ballet to audition, although no prior experience is necessary.

Veal is a good choice for light summer eating

Are you one of those folks who will not eat veal because of the inhumane methods used in production? Until recently, I was. As a result, I had refused to buy, prepare, or eat any part of those unfortunate beasts. Because of my prejudice my husband, the veal enthusiast, was limited to enjoying veal at restaurants because of my principles.
