Maxine Newman passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the age of 80. She is survived by her children, Linda Joyce Hansen, Beverly Kay Frosch, Mack Edward Newman, Charles Lee Newman and Mary Beth Kaizer; four brothers; three sisters; and her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.E. Newman; her parents, Mack Oatsvall and John and Dovie Horton. She was a native of Hardin County, Tenn., and a resident of Mandeville for the past 40 years.

After a short illness, Evelyn “Lynntune” Cornelia Cousin Evans was called home by the Lord Monday, March 8, 2010. The late Joseph “Gilbert” Cousin and Josephine “Frances” Pichon Cousin were blessed with their eighth child of 13, Evelyn Cornelia Oct. 19, 1939. Evelyn married Henry Evans Jr. Oct. 11, 1958, and into this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter. She was a graduate of St. Tammany High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Lacombe Nursing Home

James L. King, 77, passed away Feb. 9, 2010, at his residence in Pearl River. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. King worked on the Apollo Program at NASA, and he worked with Mason Chamberlin, who designed the first automated grain loader. He was an avid archer, hunter and fisherman. He is survived by eight children, Richard, Randy, Rodney, Robert, Royce, Ryan, and Pamela King and Patience Breaux. He is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte Larsen and Vivian Lindberg and 15 grandchildren.
